Playoffs in full swing
Wednesday morning, July 20th

All six playoff teams have now seen action in the 2011 MCBL Post Season Tournament.  Thru the first four games, the home team has won twice, the visiting team twice.  The higher seeded team has won twice and the lower seeded team has won twice.  The games have been fairly close with only one team scoring more than 5 runs in any game.

Wednesday will see a double header at Joe Cannon Stadium with all four teams looking to avoid elimination in this year's double elimination tournament.

At 6:00 pm, the Columbia Reds will visit the Baltimore Chop.  Both the Reds and the Chop are looking to earn their first ever MCBL postseason tournament victory.  At 8:30 pm the Maryland Black Barons will visit the 2010 defending champion Putty Hill Panthers Blue.  The winners of Wednesday's games will the have to win 4 more games in a row to win the championship.

On Thursday at 6:00 pm at Bachman Park, the 2010 tournament runner-up Maryland Orioles will visit the 2011 regular season champion Gaithersburg Giants in the finals of the winners bracket.  The winner of this game will only have to win one of their next two games to win the championship.  The loser of this game will have to win their next 3 games in a row to claim the championship.
