MCBL 2012 Post-Season Tournament Underway!

Update Thursday, July 26th, 12:30 am:

The Gaithersburg Red defeated the Md. Red Dogs 11-2 tonight to advance to the finals of the Elimination bracket against Gaithersburg Blue.  The game is scheduled for Thursday evening at 7 PM weather permiting.  Check the website for updates as the day goes on.  Highlights of Wednesday's games are offerred below.

In the finals of the winners bracket, the Baltimore Chop defeated the Gaithersburg Giants Blue 5 - 0 .

      In a pitchers battle, Ryan Taylor dominated the GSA Blue tonight, throwing a shutout while scattering 5 hits over 9 innings.  Matt Salmon was in the middle of both Chop rallies, registering 2 hits, a run scored and an RBI.      

The Chop will next play in the championship game on Friday night at 6:00 pm.

The Giants Blue will face an elimination game on Thursday at 7:00 pm hosting  the Gaithersburg Giants Red.

The GSA Red defeated the MD. Red Dogs 11 - 2 in tonights second game.    Cody Acker (4 hits), Kevin Baron, Matt Kohn and Collin Mc Gowan (3 hits each) helped break open a close game in the the last 2 innings.  Graham Hartung earned the victory with a very strong start.  For the Red Dogs, Dylan Driscoll started on the mound and pitched vert well, limiting GSA to 4 runs over 8 innings.  Driscoll also contributed to the offense with a 2 run double in the 5th.
