A Sunday night tilt in Morris on a beautiful fall day. The Express rolled into Morris, home of the so far unbeaten Twisters, but with a plan to change that. The Twisters came out flying and had several opportunities but Arnold kept them at bay and allowed the Express time to get their legs going. The first was scoreless with PV outshooting the visitors 11- 7.
A penalty to PV at the end of the 1st period allowed the Express clean ice to start the 2nd on the PP, and they made it count. Setting up the same PP that scored in the previous game, Mats taking a feed from Solypa on the right wall and stepping into a wrist shot over the goaltender to open the scoring for the Express.
A couple minutes later, back on the PP, this time Grunsten makes them pay with our 2nd PP in a minute and a half for what would be the eventual game winner. We weren't finished as 3 minutes later Chudley scored on the backhand to push the lead to 3 in less than 5 minutes.
Arnold was steady in the net, controlling rebounds and taking away 2nd opportunites. PV got a PP goal of their own early in the 3rd but that was as close as they could get. A few frustrations came up to end the game but the Express take the 2 points and a share of lead in the standings. inproving thier record to 3 and 1.
Next home game - Friday October 8th, 8pm at East End Arena.
