Express firing on all cylinders for 10th win in a row.
11/7/2021

The Express train rolled into Seven Oaks Arena on Friday night and continued their winning ways with a convincing 8 to 1 victory over the Raiders. Goaltending has been rock solid this season with a superb tandem of Powers and Arnold. Arnie got the start and with only a single goal allowed led the Express once again.

Assistant captain Kotchon got the Express going on a seeing eye shot from the wall that caught the Raiders by surprise and fired up his teamates. A minute later Heide stepped into his familiar spot, sliding into the slot off the point and Grunsten found him with a perfect feed and Heide made no mistake scoring his 4th of the season. Turner got his 1st of the season, his first in the MMJHL, on the PP set up by Delorme. Late in the first, Boonstra spotted Solypa also stepping in from the blueline and the big dman made no mistake putting the Express up by 4. The Raiders jumped on an opportunity right after to net their only goal and went to the dressing room with the Express leading 4-1.

Early into the 2nd frame Matsumoto found Grunsten in the high slot and the Raiders goaltender had no chance on his one timer under the crossbar. The PP continued to get chances and a Grunsten shot from the left hashmark bounced of a few players and ended up in the net, goal was awarded to Conner but Chudley's presence in the crease helped get the puck over the line. Kotchon was the recipient of a puck overskated by Leeson and Boonie and he hammered a lazer to give the Express the commanding 7-1 lead on 15 shots in the 2nd period alone.

The 3rd was less eventful but the rookie Todoruk scored his 4th of the season finishing off a nice pass from Chateauneuf.

The Railer Express will be looking for their 11th win in a row at their next home game Sunday November 7th against the CHalreswood Hawks - 2 PM at East End Arena.
