Express open season with 4-2 victory on Sept 30

Many new faces joining the Express this year brought some first timers out for opening night of the Railer Express 22-23 season.
Both teams seemed to be evenly matched with the Express out chancing the Riels early in the game but some stellar goaltending kept the game even. Late in the firs, the deadlock was broken by Evan Chudley on a wraparound from newly appointed captain Jason Kotchon. The Riels would tie it up shortly after until the duo of Chudley and Kotchon would strike again with Solypa joining in.
In the second period, Boonstra with a seeing eye shot from the point struck early before Chudley and Kotchon reversed their roles to give the Express some leeway.
Late goal in the third by the visitors and Justin Powers holding down the fort for an opening night victory to start the season.
Next home game is Sunday Oct 2 against the St Vital Vics. Game time is 2pm.
