Express stay perfect with 3rd win of the season
10/10/2022

A quick start for the Express out of the gate as Bruchanski

picks up a loose puck in the neutral zone and found the top shelf driving from the wing to open the scoring.  Shortly after Boonstra found himself alone in the slot and made no mistake on some hard work from rookie Jette and Turner to give the visitors a 2-0 lead. The Raiders were able to squeak one past Stewart, who was making his debut for the Express, to close the gap. Backup Josh Rach was called into action for a short time when Stewart had a skate malfunction and was able to make a couple key saves to keep the Raiders at bay.

The second starts with the Raiders tying things up before Todoruk stole the puck and goes bar down followed by Boonstra with his second on the PP with Kotch and Solypa getting helpers. The Raiders were able to get one back but Kotch scored from Solypa to regain the 2 goal lead at the end of 2 periods.

Chudley netted a PP goal early in the 3rd from Solypa, who had his 3rd assist and Boonstra.

Though winning the game, it ended on a sour note when veteran defenseman Liam Eori was taken off the ice on a stretcher with a serious leg injury. The Express players, staff and fans wish Liam a speedy recovery.

Next Express home game is Sunday October 16, 2pm at East End Arena against the Ft Garry Twins.
