The Hawks came into Transcona on a roll but the Express started strong. Boonstra turned to rip a lazer top shelf to open the scoring early from Turner and Todoruk. Midway through the opening frame Chateauneuf jammed in a loose puck to put the Express up by a pair after one in a period controlled by Transcona. 
The second was different, a couple penalties turned the momentum halfway through the period and the Hawks rallied for a couple quick goals to tie the game and finished with their 3rd in the last minute to take the lead heading into the 3rd. 
Teams traded chances in the 3rd with the Express outshooting the Hawks 14-7 but were unable to find the back of the net and let the Hawks take home the 2 points.
