Perfection is almost impossible to achieve, but Nicholas Moylan accomplished it in KOA Sports Warriors' 5-0 victory over the Baltimore Panthers on Saturday. It is the first perfect game ever pitched in the Maryland Collegiate Baseball League.
No Baltimore Panthers batter was able to locate Moylan's pitches during the game. Moylan, a sophomore at the Univ. of Delaware, threw a no-hitter, striking out seven batters and walking none while recording his momentous feat. He used his 89 MPH fastball to get ahead of batters then then finished them off with his curve and changeup.
Lucas Seib reached base three times in the game for KOA Sports Warriors. He scored one run and had one RBI. He tripled in the fifth inning.
KOA Sports Warriors didn't relinquish the lead after scoring two runs in the fifth inning when it scored on an RBI single by Kevin Young and an RBI triple by Seib. KOA Sports Warriors increased its lead with three runs in the seventh.
