Can anyone stop the Baltimore Chop?
The 2013 season is one of flirting with perfection. First KOA's Nicholas Moylan pitched the first perfect game in the history of the Maryland Colllegiate Baseball League.
Then the Gaithersburg Giants, althought bit by the rain gods, started out strong with five straight wins. Their season of perfection ended in a tight extra inning 2-1 loss to the Baltimore Panthers.
Now the Baltimore Chop are having a season for the ages. First they've shattered the MCBL record for the number of consecutive victories (previously set at 10 straight wins) and they've now got their sights set on more records......number of victories in a season, most runs scored and fewest runs allowed.
The rest of the league may, however, be figuring out how to slow down their magic. Within the last week, the Frederick Hustlers, Baltimore Panthers and Putty Hill Panthers all came close, losing by only one run.
So the question remains.......who (and when) will anyone be able to stop the Chop's run?
See ya at the field!
