KOA Wins 2015 MCBL Tournament Championship!!

 

The two best teams during the regular season entered Saturday night's final game of the 2015 MCBL Post-season tournament, with the #1 seed BCC Big Train Stars facing the #2 seed KOA Sports Warriors. 

 

These two teams had faced each other 4 times in the regular season and twice more in the tournament.  They had split the six games with 3 victories for each.  Only only one run had separated the two teams with BCC scoring 32 runs and KOA scoring 31 runs.

 

With most of the fans expecting another tight nail biter, it was not to be with KOA beating BCC 10 - 1 to claim their first MCBL tournament championship.

 

In Thursday's game, KOA had 15 hits and 3 walks while only scoring 5 runs in a 6 - 5 loss to BCC.  In Saturday's game, KOA had 14 hits and 3 walks but scored 10 runs over 5 consecutive innings.

 

KOA's offensive effort Saturday night was truly a team effort.  All nine starters reached based and six of them had two hits.

 

The usually potent BCC offense was held in check by KOA's All-Star pitchers Cameron Enck and Jack Alkire.   Except for two monster off the wall doubles by BCC All-Star Jimmy Monaghan, BCC was held to just 3 singles.

 

Congratulations go to both teams for displaying baseball excellence throughout the entire season and tournament !!!!
