2018 RETURNING STRENGTH TEAM PREVIEWS - BARBERS HILL EAGLES
Barbers Hill completed District play undefeated in 2017 and after dominating PNG in game 1 of the Regional Quarter Finals Barbers Hill was expecting to make a strong run to Round Rock, but PNG got the best of top prospect Bryce Bonnin in game 2 and the Eagles were shutout in last 2 games as bats went to sleep at the wrong time. Barbers Hill made a heartbreaking exit from the Play-offs as PNG went on to win it all. To sum it up for the season the Eagles had 5 losses on the year, which 4 came from the would-be State Champions PNG and Deer Park.
2018 brings a lot of questions and Holes, and Coach David Denny has some big shoes to fill after losing Dist MVP Bryce Bonnin (Arkansas); Catcher Rhett McCall (Lamar); Pitcher Chris Stevens and Outfielder Brandon Holdren. But Coach Denny always seems to find a way to get the wins with the talent he has. Dist offensive MVP Blake Cappadona along with 2nd team All Dist 1st baseman/RHP SFA signee, Cully Mangus, 2nd Team All-Dist OF/RHP Asa Thompson and returner 2nd baseman Honorable Mention Brett Copeland hope to lead the way for a repeat of District Champs and another run in the playoffs.
