Tournament Update # 8

(August 8, 2020)

On a muggy but sunny day, the Putty Hill Panthers won the 2020 MCBL post-season tournament by beating DigIn Baseball 11-2.

Putty Hill jumped out early to a 5-1 lead and was able to weather several DigIn threats.   DigIn loaded the bases in the 5th and 6th innings, but that key hit just eluded them and they were only able to push across one more run.

Congratulations go out to both teams.   DigIn Baseball made MCBL history by being the first # 7 seed to reach the finals.  Putty Hill made MCBL history by winning their 4th MCBL post-season tournament, their second in a row and their third in the last four years.

Congratulations also go out to everyone who made this 2020 season happen.  Fans, family, friends even players will never truly know nor fully appreciate all of the tremendous amount of work that went on behind the scenes this year to pull together this season under challenging and changing conditions.  

Kudos to all the managers, coaches along with field administrators who trusted MCBL to establish and follow the Coronavirus protocols and procedures that allowed this season to happen.   Thanks!!!!!
