Tournament Continues
July 28, 2021
The 2021 MCBL Post-Season Tournament is underway and there has been action galore!
In the opening sudden death play-in round, the Putty Hill Panthers survived over the tough Baltimore Chop in a tense, close 5-3 game. In the other game, the Koa Sports Green Wave pitching staff held the high scoring Rockville Express to 3 hits and beat them 13-0.
In the semi-finals (best 2 out of 3), the Baltimore Clippers won their franchise's first ever playoff game with an easy 20-2 victory over Koa. Koa cam back and returned the favor in the second game 12-3. The two teams play in the final game at Johns Hopkins (weather permitting) to decide who advances to the finals.
In the other semi-final series, the Putty Hill Panthers jumped out to a quick 8-0 lead over the regular season champion BCC Big Train, before mother nature had something to say.....in the form of a downpour. The game was concluded on Tuesday with the Panthers holding on for a 9-2 victory. BCC will attempt to even the score in the second game at St. Pauls.
With the top four seeds still in the tournament, it should be exciting.
See ya at the ballfield!
