First No-Hitter of the Season !!!

If there’s one thing to take away from summer baseball, it’s that anything can happen at any ballpark on any given day.
Through 145 MCBL games played this summer as of 7/22, a no-hitter was not on that list. That was until Andrew Abrams of the Rockville Express accomplished this feat with an outstanding performance on Thursday versus the Maryland Monarchs.
Abrams, a left-handed pitcher from Salisbury University, threw 7.0 innings of no-hit ball racking up 7 strikeouts along the way and only allowed two baserunners via a walk, helping the Express to a huge 3-0 victory.
Abrams noted that “This was one of the best moments of my life.” and that “I tried to keep my composure, I knew what was at stake and I just went right after ‘em.”
He also gave a few nods to some of his teammates as well. On the defensive side of things catcher James Heffley shined behind the plate calling a great game, and shortstop Ethan Zorbaugh took away multiple hits up the middle showing off some fantastic range and a nice arm to go with it.
“I definitely have to give them some credit for that… they definitely had my back out there.” added Abrams.
With the playoffs just around the corner, Rockville looks to ride the momentum from this stellar pitching performance.
