Bump in the Road or Changing of the Guard ?
July 30, 2021
Over the previous 4 years, not only has the Putty Hill Panthers made the playoffs every year, they’ve dominated post-season play.
The Panthers have won three of the last four MCBL Post-Season Tournaments. Along the way they’ve won over a 1/3 of all tournament games played. They’ve also won more games than 7 other post-season playoff teams …..combined.
So, it should come as no surprise that not only did they make the playoffs again, they advanced to the semi-final round and forced a rubber match with the #1 seeded BCC Big Train. Just like the first game of the semi-final series when the Panthers jumped out to an 8-0 lead, BCC also jumped out to an 8-0 lead before prevailing 11-1.
Thus, the #1 seeded BCC Big Train will be seeking their first MCBL Post-Season Tournament championship when they host the #3 seeded Koa Sports Green Wave…champions of the 2015 MCBL Post-Season Tournament.
Due to delays from mother nature, the BCC Big Train will now face the Koa Sports Green Wave in a single winner- take-all game on Saturday, July 31st at 7:00 pm at Blair High School.
Fans will have to watch then decide……is this a precursor to the future for BCC and Koa or merely a bump in the road for the Putty Hill Panthers?
See ya at the ballfield !
