Well Represented

In case you haven't noticed, the state of Maryland and the Maryland Collegiate Baseball League (MCBL) are well represented in post-season NCAA baseball tournaments.

In Winston-Salem, North Carolina...... the University of Maryland, winners of of the Big Ten Baseball Tournament are in the Division I super-regionals.

In Cedar Rapids, Iowa.......Johns Hopkins University and Salisbury University are two of the eight teams remaining in the Division III baseball championships.

MCBL not only has several players in these tournaments, but Adam Schlenoff, the General Manager of the Baltimore Clippers is the Assistant Head Coach for Johns Hopkins.  Gabby Castellano, the Blue Jays first base coach, is also the Head Coach of the Baltimore Clippers.  

In addition, Roger Wolfe, MCBL's Deputy Commissioner was honored by being selected to umpire several of the tournament games in Iowa.

Not bad for a state that's only the 19th largest (population wise) state in the country.
