Historic Tournament Finals On Tap

On Saturday evening, the 2024 MCBL Post-season tournament will see a historic final game.   More on that in a moment.

 

On Friday night, the #8 seed DigIn Baseball beat the #2 seed Baltimore Chop.....in a very good game.   

 

The trio of pitchers for the Baltimore Chop did a nice job tonight keeping DigIn off the basepaths for most of the night.   The pitching duo of John Delgado and Cameron Biller for Digin, however, was just a tad better.

 

Talk about gritty.  In the bottom of the ninth, down 5-1, two outs, no one on base and down to their last strike........the never-say-die Chop rallied and actually brought the winning run to the plate before finally succumbing.

 

Which brings us to the winner-take-all final game of the tournament on Saturday night.  And no matter who wins......MCBL history will be made.

 

If DigIn Baseball wins:

     - they will win their first MCBL Post-season

       Tournament;

     - they will be the first #8 seed to win the

       tournament;    

     - they will be the fifth different team in five

       years to win the tournament.

 

If the Baltimore Chop wins:

     - they will be repeat tournament champions        

       (only the third time accomplished);     

     - they will win their fifth tournament

       championship.....most in MCBL history.
