Tournament Seedings Finalized

The MCBL regular season has concluded.  Unlike last year, mother nature generally cooperated and all but a very few games were completed as scheduled.

 

With the conclusion, the seedings for the MCBL Post-season Tournament have been set (based upon total number of wins):

 

# 1 seed :  Baltimore Chop (25 wins)

# 2 seed :  Putty Hill Panthers (18 wins)

# 3 seed :  BBA Eagles (15 wins)

# 4 seed :  Olney Dusters (11 wins)

# 5 seed :  Baltimore Clippers (10 wins)

# 6 seed :  Rockville Express (9 wins)

                  Note:  Rockville wins the first tiebreaker (head to head) with Digin.        

# 7 seed :  DigIn Baseball (9 wins)

# 8 seed :  Maryland Monarchs (8 wins)

 

This year’s tournament will follow the NCAA world series format with the teams being split into two brackets (or groups).   The #1, 4, 5, and 8 seeds will be in the first bracket (Group A) and the # 2, 3, 6 and 7 seeds will be in the second bracket (Group B).

 

Each bracket will be a straight double elimination.  The winners of each bracket will face each other in a best 2 out of 3 championship series.  

 

The higher seeded team (e.g., #1 is the highest) will always be the home team…..until the second game of the championship series.

 

Please note, any losses incurred within the initial bracket will carry over to the championship series.  Thus, if each bracket winner has already lost a game within group play, the championship will be a single winner take all game.
