GAME 1 (BEST OF 3)

 

INDIANS 1 vs RAYS 0

All week fans and players were looking forward to this matchup and how this series would end up. Game 1 would live up the the hype. It was Harley(Chris) vs Harley(Michael) in the longest game in wiffle ball history. Chris Harley(11.2Inn, Er, 30Ks) and Michael Harley(11Inn, 27 Ks) went inning for inning of shut out ball. After 6 innings it was still 0 to 0. On to extra innings where nothing changed. Harleys went back in forth of shut out wiffle ball until Michael Harley had to leave the game in the 12th due to pitch count. Matt Freshcorn relieved Harley and shut the Rays down in the top of the 12th inning. In the bottom of the 12th inning, the Indians begin to work the count on Chris Harley and it worked out well for them. After lead off single from Toledo, a double Freshcorn, a walk from Overstreet and 2 strikeouts, Michael Harley came up with bases loaded and 2 outs. After working the count to full, Harley watched a high riser that missed the strike zone and walked in the winning run. After 12 innings, 57 strikeouts and only 12 hits, the longest game in wiffle ball history was over.

GAME 2

 

RAYS 6 vs INDIANS 0

The Rays sent Shane Effertz to the mound and the Indians sent Matt Freshcorn to continue the scoreless streak. Effertz(W CG 2H 18ks) stepped up and delt for the Rays shutting down the Indians in a must win game. Freshcorn(3inn 4ER 9 Ks) held the Rays in the first couple of innings before Effertz and the Rays got to him in the 3rd. After a couple of singles and a walk, Effertz walked up to the plate and on the 2nd pitch delivered a Grandslam for the Rays. Down 4 to 0, The Indians brought in JJ crumbley in to stop the bleeding. Effertz came uo in the 5th and delivered the final blow to the Inidans by hitting another HR. The Indians couldnt get the bats together off Effertz and realized they are going to Game 3.

GAME 3

 

INDIANS 1 vs RAYS 0

With the series tied at 1, The Indians sent ace Michael Harley out again for game 3 to face Shane Effertz and the Rays. First couple of innings Harley and Effertz went back and forth of scoreless ball. In the third the Indians got to Effertz. After a single by Michael Harley, Efferts (3 inn 3H ER 7ks)retired Overstreet and Freshcorn before giving up a double by Danny Toledo. Michael Harley came back up with runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs and delivered a shot to centerfield. Chris Harley dove after the ball but the ball got passed him and the Indians score the only run of the game. Chris Harley then came in and finshed the game for the Rays but it wasnt enough. Michael Harley(CG W 3H 16Ks) showed why he is the 3 time CY YOUNG award recipient by blanking the Rays and earning the Tampa Bay Wiffle Ball League Championship.
