From the President: As many of you are aware, the Varsity Program for the 2009-2010 season has gotten underway and not without issue. The team has struggled to come together as a cohesive unit, thus prohibiting the team to play to club expectation. A decision was made by the Club Board of Directors to have Mark Holder take over as Varsity Head Coach effective 12-13-09. Coach Fike was offered an Assistant role but chose not to accept. I want to thank Coach Holder for taking this role and please join me in wishing him much success. Please call me personally with any questions. Mike Kraus.

Club News: Just a reminder, if a player is not going to be at practice or a game, please notify your respective coach. All contact information is on the website, "Coaches & Staff." Now would be another good time to put these phone numbers on your cell phones. Varsity needs to CC to Mark Robinson. JV needs to CC to Glen Salomon. C team needs to CC to Melissa Corbett. You do not comply, you do not play.

Varsity News: We have a dress code before and after games. It has always been- Collared shirt tucked in; dress pants; tie; clean tennis shoes are permitted, but dress shoes preferred. No hats, no jeans. Players violating the dress code before the game, will not play in that game. Player violating the dress code after the game, will not play in the next game. This will be monitored by parents, board members and coaches.

Thanks! Great job on returning the jerseys. I case you are wondering or have not figured it out yet, the color scheme on the letters and numbers are backwards. It is supposed to be silver on purple...as was voted last April and how they were ordered. This is being corrected at no cost to Eureka Hockey. They are fixing them in 2 batches, half each time. Varsity will be done first, the balance of the club to follow. Sorry for the trouble. In the meantime, gold jerseys/purple socks.

Golf Tournament: Financial results look to be $5955 of profit. Thanks for all your hard work, donations, sponsorships and participation. The Golf Committee should be recognized for a job well done.

JV News: Game change - from Monday, 11/16, to Sunday, 11/15. Website has been updated.

Also, we have entered the DeSmet Tournament, Dec 26 - 28. If you responded that you would be in town and available, Coach Holder will roster accordingly.

C Team News: I am still in waiting for confirmation regarding our 2 games against Rockwood Summit. They only game that I have not posted on OUR website is the Monday, 11/16 game. For now, the schedule posted on the Developmental website http://www.midstateshockeydev.org/ is the last word. Keep your eyes open for an email update and please visit both websites often, especially early in the season, thanks. Let me know if you see something.

Thanks to everyone for your help with the Golf Tournament and especially to Allan for a job well done. He will follow up with all as the dust settles.

Varsity News: Full Mid-States league schedule has been added to OUR website as communicated last week.

JVD & C Team News: It looks like a preliminary schedule is posted through November for both teams on the Mid-States Hockey Developmental League website at http://www.midstateshockeydev.org/. Click on "Team Pages" found in the left hand column and look for "Eureka" in the appropriate section. Then, scroll to the bottom for your schedule. (I am waiting for clarification/correction on the 11-15-2009 dates for C Team.)
