SENIOR Night:  Please tell your family, friends, classmates, aunts, uncles, neighbors.  This is wonderful evening of celebration for our Class of 2013. 

Trivia Night:  Has been CANCELLED.  Had only 5 table responses from our head count request due last Friday...we need 15.  No silent auction chair.  Thanks to Brenda (registration) and Lisa (cashier) for your reply.  We had some offers for various shifts, thank you.  Just not enough interest this year.

I hope this email finds you well in the New Year and you had a joyous holiday season.  Lots of hockey going...the

season is in the home stretch.  Been a couple weeks since we spoke...auto pilot.  

It is time to offer your support to a couple of upcoming events,

Senior Night:  Friday, January 18, 2013.  Eureka vs. Vianney, 7:15 PM at Fenton.  Please tell all your friends and family.  it is truly one of the most humbling experiences of your hockey life.

This night is for the seniors and their parents.  The success of this event lies in your hands.  We need a few of ya'all to step us and make it happen.  I will get the sound system and the bios on each of the players...the rest is up to you.  Please keep me in the loop.

Trivia Night:  Saturday, January 26, 2013.  Traditionally, this is a TON of FUN and a worthwhile fundraiser for the club.  At this point, my earlier request for assistance has fallen on deaf ears.  Again, we need a few folks to handle the various aspects of this event.  If we could get a chair for the silent auction and one to handle the registration/checkout, that would be huge.  We need committee chairs for bartenders & set up also.  

Reminder, each family is responsible for donating a 6 pack of beer, a bottle of adult beverage (wheelbarrow drawings) and a silent auction item of $20 or more.  

If you plan on attending, please let us know by Friday with a head count before we pull the plug.  We will cancel if there are not enough helpers or not enough replies and we will only be out the $500 rent.

Club News:  EVERYONE'S second league payment to the Eureka Hockey Club was DUE on October 15, 2012.  Several of you have yet to pay.  This due date was communicated to everyone in July.  Come on folks, this is just not right.  Any Sponsor Book credit will be posted to your final league payment.  Please let us make the adjustment...not you.  Second league payment needs to be paid in full.    

Sponsor Book Update:  Jay Moore has done a bang up job on this project...just wait until you see it.  Getting pictures from Stephen's has been a struggle again this year.  The organization from Tracy Kueser on the collection of ads sure made things easy.  A BIG THANK YOU to both.  You should see the finished books in a week or so.  Reminder, each player is responsible for delivering a book to your particular sponsor with a "thank you."

Club News:  As the season begins, please remember YOUR Code of Conduct and your PLAYER'S Code of Conduct.  We started this season with game suspensions.  This is embarassing to the entire club and our reputation right now in Mid States is not good.  We are being watched very closely.

I recently learned of a situation from a varsity game.  For those of you involved or aware, an initial apology has been received and disciplinary action will be taken.  I have spoken with representatives of the opposing club and offered my apologies on behalf of Eureka Hockey.

However, this message is one for ALL PLAYERS AND PARENTS.  Have you actually taken the time to digest the "Code of Conduct"...it is a 2 minute read...but lasts a lifetime.  PARENTS AND PLAYERS, please, just take the time.

Looks like the cancelling of the tailgate was a good idea.  Just so you know, it was too late to cancel the sandwiches...so...they were delivered to our local fire department by Will in his Eureka Hockey jersey.  Nice touch, eh?
